Considering Catholicism

What does it mean to become Catholic? What are the steps?

Becoming Catholic is a process.  Jesus loves you and wants to have a relationship with you and He left us His Church as a visible sign.  So, as you go through a process of getting to know Jesus and His Church, you get to decide if you are interested, and then decide if you want to make a commitment, and then once you decide you are committed, you go through a period, similar to an engagement period, where you are learning and growing closer to being Catholic.  There are steps along the way that indicate you are serious and want to proceed with receiving the sacraments – Baptism, Confirmation and the Eucharist – and then, often on Easter Vigil, or on a specific date decided between you and your Journey leader – you will go through a Mass, where you will be welcomed into Full communion with the Church, and will receive the sacraments for the first time.  We would like to invite you to join our Journeying in Faith Ministry Group for Adults.  We meet regularly to deepen your relationship with Jesus, to understand how we were created to be in community with others as part of our being, and what His Church is about. We invite you to join us by clicking on the link below to send a message to ask for more details.

I grew up Catholic and I left. Something is calling be back but I don't know where to start - what should I do?

There’s an old saying that goes, “Once a Catholic, always a Catholic.” You may have been away for just a little while or maybe it has been a long time, but there is something pulling at your heart… calling you back to the Catholic Church. Listen to that pull. It’s your Heavenly Father reaching out, arms open wide, the Holy Spirit whispering in your ear, hoping to draw you home.

If you want to talk about it, please call and ask to meet with a priest, pastoral minister, or you can fill out a contact form and someone will contact you.

If you aren’t ready to talk yet, that’s understandable. Would you mind just submitting a prayer request so I can know to pray for your journey?
